We will be updating this FAQ frequently.

Do you plan to directly support other BMS ?(Blog Management Systems)
Yes we do. We may ask your help with that. As you can image we would never have shipped Elicit if we incorporated every BMS out there. So we've tried to choose the initial services with the best support, technology and corporate backing.

You can use one of the generic API (Blogger API, WordPress API, MovableType API) in the mean time. If you have success let us know and we will try and incorporate them in future releases.

How can I upload images into Blogger or Livejournal with Elicit?
The bad news is that Blogger and LiveJournal provide no direct way (via APIs etc..) for Elicit to upload Images. The good news is that you can easily reference photos by dragging and dropping images from your Flickr account, desktop or browser. When and if Livejounal and Blogger support direct image uploading we will integrate it.

What about FTP for images?
With the rise of photo hosting services like Flickr, Buzznet etc.. we made the decision not to support FTP.

When I move the date and time or my entries (after they have been published) the orignal date and time stay. What gives?
Typepad does a very good job of updating previously published entries. Change an entry's date and re-publishing it from Elicit (Using the APIs). The date should change on your blog. Not so with Blogger, SquareSpace and Livejournal. We have talked to them about it. You may want to send them a e-mail also.

What's all this talk about APIs?
Elicit uses several public Application Programming Interfaces to publish to your blog. (MovableType, Blogger API, MetaWeblog API). The complexity is that all of the BMSs implement these APIs differently. So we have to work hard to insure consistancy between them. We will try and let you know the differences between platforms here and in our documentation.
